The entrance examination for the Delhi Government's CM Shri Schools has been postponed to September 13, 2025, from its original date of September 6. This exam is intended for students entering classes 6, 7, and 8 and will utilize an OMR (Optical Mark Recognition) format. Admit cards will be accessible starting September 10, a change from the previously scheduled release date of August 23.
Exam Format and Duration
The entrance test will cover subjects including Hindi, English, General Awareness, Mental Ability, and Mathematical Ability, and will be conducted in both Hindi and English. Students will have 150 minutes (2.5 hours) to complete the exam, with additional time allocated for children with special needs. The Directorate of Education has announced that the final list of selected candidates will be published on September 10, with the admission process concluding by mid-September.
Eligibility Criteria for the Exam
Half of the available seats in CM Shri Schools are reserved for students from government and government-aided institutions, including those from Delhi Government schools, Delhi Municipal Corporation, New Delhi Municipal Council, Kendriya Vidyalaya, and Navodaya Vidyalaya. Additionally, students from SC, ST, OBC (non-creamy layer), and those with special needs will receive a 5% relaxation in the admission process.

Announced in the Delhi Budget for 2025-26, these schools have been allocated Rs 100 crore for development.
