The deadline for submitting applications for the CSIR UGC-NET December 2025 session is fast approaching. If you haven't completed your application yet, it's crucial to do so immediately by visiting the official site at csirnet.nta.ac.in. The National Testing Agency (NTA) has set the final date for applications as October 24, 2025, and no submissions will be accepted after this date. This examination is essential for determining eligibility for university lectureships, assistant professorships, and PhD admissions.


Application Process and Exam Schedule

The application window for the CSIR UGC-NET December 2025 session opened on September 25, 2025. The examination is scheduled for December 18, 2025. Candidates will have the opportunity to make corrections to their application forms on October 27 and 28, 2025.


Application Fees

The application fees are structured as follows:



  • General Category: ₹1150

  • EWS/OBC: ₹600

  • SC/ST/PwBD: ₹325


Payments can be made online using net banking, debit/credit cards, or UPI.


Subjects Covered in the Exam

The CSIR UGC-NET exam will assess candidates on five subjects:



  • Chemical Sciences

  • Earth, Atmospheric, Ocean, and Planetary Sciences

  • Life Sciences

  • Physical Sciences

  • Mathematical Sciences


Age Limit for Candidates

The maximum age limit for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) applicants is 30 years. However, certain categories are eligible for age relaxation: SC, ST, third gender, PwBD, and women candidates receive a 5-year extension, while OBC (non-creamy layer) candidates get a 3-year extension. There is no age limit for those applying for Lectureship or Assistant Professor roles, allowing all qualified candidates to apply without age restrictions. Note that only one application form may be submitted; multiple submissions will invalidate the application.
