Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) is a centralised test for admission to 17 prominent National Law Universities in India. The test is taken after the Higher Secondary Examination or the 12th grade for admission to integrated undergraduation programmes in Law and after Graduation in Law for Master of Laws(LL.M) programmes conducted by these law universities.

Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) is a centralised test for admission to 17 prominent National Law Universities in India. The test is taken after the Higher Secondary Examination or the 12th grade for admission to integrated undergraduation programmes in Law and after Graduation in Law for Master of Laws(LL.M) programmes conducted by these law universities.

The CLAT (Common Law Admission Test) 2016 will be conducted on May 8, 2016. The registrations for the same will begin from January 1, 2016. The exam is held for admissions to 17 National Law Universities. Check the Details given below:-

Registration Starts from: 1 January, 2016

CLAT Syllabus:

UG Courses: Candidate must have cleared 12th examination or equivalent certificate (appearing can also apply) from the government recognized board with 45% marks for General and 40% Marks for Reserved Category.

PG Courses: Candidates must have completed LLB or 5 year integrated LLB degree with 55% marks (50% for SC/ST candidates) from recognized University.

CLAT Paper pattern 2016:

For UG Programme:-

  1. The paper will consist of 200 multiple answer type questions of one mark each. The paper will be of two hours duration.
  2. The questions will be asked from the following topics: Reasoning, Legal Aptitude, English & Comprehension, Elementary Mathematics and General Knowledge and Current Affairs

For PG Programme:-

  1. The paper will consist of 150 multiple choice questions of one mark each. The paper will be of two hours duration .
  2. Each correct answer will be awarded with one mark. The paper will consist of questions from the following topics: Constitutional Law, Jurisprudence and Other law subjects

Selection procedure:- The allotment of institutions and seats would be based on the score in CLAT 2016 in merit-list and the choice take by the candidates and availability of seat in desired university.
