Last Minute Tips for Success in UGC NET Exam 2015:

Important: Candidates can neither carry pen nor wear wrist watch. CBSE has announced that it would provide a ball point pen to all the candidates and also ensure all the examination halls will have a wall clock.

  1. Read the instructions carefully before writing the exam. Strategize the time accordingly; try to complete the exam within the stipulated time
  2. Do not learn any new subject at this point of time. It will make you forget your strong areas. Other than picking a new subject, revise all your covered topics.
  3.  Start with easier section and leave tougher questions for the other round.
  4. Be confident and leave a question if you are not sure about it.
  5. Understand the paper pattern thoroughly. It is important to answer 50 questions you know rather than answering more because if you answer more than 50 questions only the first 50 will be counted regardless if questions after the first 50 are answered correctly
  6. Prepare a study schedule including as many varied topics as you can and study accordingly.Study basic concepts in mass communication for the communication topic. Also Study each topic as 5 questions will definitely come from each topic
  7. Its important to study Teaching and Research in depth as the most difficult questions are usually in this section
  8. Revise basic mathematics concepts from class 10th, focusing mainly on understanding sets/patterns and improve approximation techniques. Data Interpretation is generally based on statistics, so study statistics from class 10th to prepare
  9. Read any new material(not too long) and try summarizing it in a few points to practice for reading comprehension.
  10. Information and Communication Technology and Higher Education System should be given sufficient time as both are material-heavy. Prepare Information and Communication Technology and Higher Education System from books specified for UGC NET
  11. Definitions, abbreviations and terminology are very important for Information and Communication Technology so make sure you know them well
  12. Remember to check the sample paper/previous paper soon after completing it so you can identify and improve on your weak areas.
  13. Study for Higher Education System Governance, Polity and Administration using flowcharts
  14. Above all, keep yourself motivated; don’t let anybody’s comment get to you.
