Overview of LOC Submission Process


The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has commenced preparations for the board examinations scheduled for 2027. The board has released the timeline for schools to submit the List of Candidates (LOC). Schools will be able to fill out the LOC online starting from September 24, 2026, with a deadline set for October 21, 2026.
The entire LOC process will be conducted through the schools, requiring them to enter personal details, subjects, and other essential information of the students participating in the board exams. The board has advised schools to thoroughly verify all information before final submission of the LOC.
LOC for First Board Exam of Class 10
According to CBSE, the current LOC procedure pertains to the first board examination for Class 10. This examination is slated to take place between February and March 2027.
It is mandatory for all regular students participating in the first board exam to submit their LOC. A separate LOC process will be implemented for the second board exam of Class 10, which will follow the first exam.


Required Information for LOC

Schools must carefully record each student's details. The LOC will primarily include the following information:

• Names of parents

Schools can only sponsor their regular and bonafide students for the board examinations. No eligible student should be omitted from the LOC.
Additionally, it is crucial for the student to be enrolled in a recognized school and to meet the attendance requirements as per CBSE regulations. Students should not be simultaneously registered with any other educational board.
Students appearing for Class 10 and 12 board exams must also fulfill the eligibility criteria outlined in CBSE's Examination Bye-Laws.


Separate Application for Private and Compartment Candidates

CBSE has clarified that the online application process for private candidates and second chance compartment candidates will be distinct.
These students are not required to apply under the current LOC process. The board will issue a separate notification and application link for these candidates later.


Challenges After LOC Submission

Schools are advised to meticulously check all details before submitting the LOC. Once the LOC is finalized, requests for changes in subjects or modifications related to admissions in Class 10 and 12 are generally not accepted.
However, cases related to transfers may be considered as exceptions. Additionally, requests for concessions related to Children With Special Needs (CWSN) after the LOC submission are typically not accepted.
