CBSE Expands Regional Offices to Enhance Student Support

CBSE's New Initiative for Regional Offices



In a significant move aimed at benefiting students and their families, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced the establishment of new regional offices, centers of excellence (COE), and sub-regional offices across seven cities. This expansion will bring the total number of CBSE regional offices to 23, as confirmed by an official notification released on Friday, August 22.


The new regional offices will be located in the following cities: Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh), Gurugram (Haryana), Raipur (Chhattisgarh), Ranchi (Jharkhand), Agartala (Tripura), Itanagar (Arunachal Pradesh), and Gangtok (Sikkim). Notably, the offices in Agartala, Itanagar, and Gangtok will function as sub-regional offices.


According to CBSE, operations at the Raipur, Ranchi, Itanagar, and Gangtok offices commenced on August 22. The Gurugram office is set to begin operations on September 1, while the Agartala sub-regional office will open on September 15.


Details of the Gurugram Regional Office


Previously, all districts in Haryana were managed by the Panchkula regional office. However, with the new Gurugram office, several districts including Faridabad, Bhiwani, Gurugram, Mahendragarh, Charkhi Dadri, Nuh, Sonipat, Palwal, Rewari, Rohtak, and Jhajjar will now have their CBSE-related tasks handled locally.


Lucknow Regional Office's Coverage


The newly established Lucknow Regional Office will oversee 30 districts in Uttar Pradesh, which were previously managed by the Prayagraj and Noida offices. The districts include Pilibhit, Lakhimpur Kheri, Lalitpur, Mahoba, Kannauj, Kanpur Dehat, Lucknow, Amethi, Auraiya, Ayodhya, Balrampur, Bahraich, Barabanki, Banda, Fatehpur, Firozabad, Etawah, Farrukhabad, Gonda, Hamirpur, Hardoi, Jalaun, Jhansi, Mainpuri, Rae Bareli, Shahjahanpur, Sitapur, Unnao, and Shravasti.
