The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced that the supplementary practical examinations for Class 12 will commence on July 29, 2026. The Board has completed its preparations and released detailed guidelines for these exams. It has been specified that practical assessments will be conducted for students categorized under 'compartment' based on specific criteria.

Guidelines for Supplementary Practical Exams

**Mandatory Practical Exams for Specific Student Categories**

According to CBSE, practical exams are compulsory for two distinct groups of students: those classified as 'Repeat Practical' (RP) and those in the 'Repeat Theory and Practical' (RB) category. The RP category consists of students who need to retake the practical component in a subject due to compartment placement. In contrast, the RB category includes students required to repeat both theory and practical assessments in one or more subjects.

**Exam Requirements for Each Category**

Students in the 'Repeat Practical' (RP) category are only required to take the practical exam during the supplementary period, with their previous theory scores remaining applicable. However, those in the 'Repeat Theory and Practical' (RB) category must sit for both practical and theory exams.

**Locations for Practical Exams**

CBSE has designated specific venues for the practical exams. Regular students will take their practical assessments at their respective schools, while private students will be assigned to designated examination centers. It is advised that students reach out to their schools or examination centers by July 27 for further details.

The Board has also recommended that students bring their results, mark sheets, and admit cards to the exams. Additionally, students should make a note of their practical exam schedule and ensure timely arrival at the venue.
