Overview of CBSE Class 12 Results

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced the results for the Class 12 board examinations, revealing a noticeable decline compared to previous years. This drop has raised concerns, with speculation suggesting that the online evaluation of answer sheets may have contributed to the results. However, both CBSE and the Ministry of Education have denied these claims. As the focus shifts to the re-evaluation process, CBSE has lowered the fees associated with it, allowing students to access scanned copies of their answer sheets. The re-evaluation process began on May 19, but many students have reported difficulties logging in to apply for this service. Despite these complaints, CBSE maintains that their system is operating correctly.

Technical Issues Reported by Students

**Students Report Portal Crashes**
On the first day of the re-evaluation process, students encountered significant technical issues with the dedicated portal set up for applications. Many took to social media, particularly 'X', to express their frustrations about being unable to log in or submit their requests.

CBSE's Response to Complaints

**CBSE Claims System is Operational**
In response to the technical difficulties reported, CBSE has stated that the system is functioning as intended. Sanyam Bhardwaj, the CBSE Controller of Examinations, mentioned that they received only a few calls from students experiencing login issues, but no further complaints were reported afterward. He explained that sometimes, a cached version of the webpage may load, causing confusion, and advised students to restart their devices. He reassured that if students face issues, they should try again later, as this does not affect their ability to apply in the long term.

Changes to the Re-evaluation Portal

**Removal of CAPTCHA Feature**
Bhardwaj confirmed that the re-evaluation portal is functioning well, even stating that he successfully submitted a dummy application. He attributed some issues to users' internet connectivity and noted that the CAPTCHA feature was removed due to complaints from students about its visibility.

Application Timeline and Fee Adjustments

**Application Deadline and Fee Reduction**
The re-evaluation process commenced on May 19, with applications accepted until May 22. Students will be able to view their re-evaluated answer sheets from May 26 to May 29. Additionally, the fee for viewing answer sheets has been significantly reduced from ₹700 to ₹100, while the verification fee has also been lowered from ₹500 to ₹100.
