CBSE Class 12 Re-evaluation Update

CBSE Class 12 Re-evaluation 2026: Following the announcement of the CBSE Class 12 Board Results for 2026, an important update has been released regarding the re-evaluation and re-checking procedures. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will initiate the re-evaluation process for Class 12 students starting June 1, 2026. This service will be available solely to those students who have requested scanned copies of their answer sheets. Initially, the Board had indicated that the portal for marks verification and re-evaluation would open on May 29, 2026, but this date has now been updated in a recent press release.

Eligibility for Re-evaluation
According to the new guidelines from CBSE, only students who have previously obtained scanned copies of their answer sheets will be permitted to apply for re-evaluation. After reviewing these scanned copies, students can identify specific questions they believe need to be re-evaluated. The Board aims to create a more transparent and fair system, allowing students to make informed decisions after reviewing their answer sheets.

Concerns Over the OSM System
This year marked the first large-scale implementation of the On-Screen Marking (OSM) system by CBSE. Under this system, answer sheets were evaluated digitally. However, since the results were announced, numerous complaints have emerged on social media from students. Many have reported that the images in the scanned copies appear unclear, while others claim that entire answer sheets are missing or certain pages are not visible. These issues have led to considerable anxiety among students. In response to these concerns, CBSE has established a 24/7 toll-free helpline at 1800-11-8004 for assistance. Additionally, students and parents can register their complaints or inquiries via email at info.cbse@nic.in and resultcbse2026@cbseshiksha.in.

High Demand for Scanned Copies
Statistics from CBSE indicate that a significant number of students have requested scanned copies of their answer sheets this year. The Board reported receiving 404,319 applications for scanned copies, with students requesting a total of 1,131,961 answer sheets. To date, 898,214 answer sheets have been made available digitally. In a bulletin dated May 26, 2026, CBSE confirmed that the remaining pending scanned copies would be sent to students via their registered email addresses and the official portal by May 27.
