Exam Date Extended
Originally scheduled for June 22, the examination date has now been extended to the last week of June. This decision was made to avoid clash with the Bihar Combined Competitive Examination (BCECE 2024).
Vacancy Details
- Head Master: 6,061 posts
- Head Teacher: 40,247 posts
- Total applicants: Approximately 1.5 lakh
Selection Process
Selection will be based on a written test followed by an interview. The result is expected to be out in July.
Eligibility Criteria
- Education: Candidates must have passed a university with a minimum of 50% marks.
- Experience: Head teachers must have a minimum of 8 years of regular service as a basic grade teacher.
- Age Limit: Maximum age limit is 60 years.
Exam Pattern
- Duration: Two hours
- Total Questions: 150 (1 mark each)
- Subjects: General Studies and Diploma of Elementary Education (75 questions each)
- Negative Marking: 0.25 marks deducted for each wrong answer

The syllabus for the General Studies section includes topics like General Science, Current Affairs, Indian Polity, Geography, Indian Economy, Mental Ability Test, History, and Mathematics.
