New Regulations for Bihar's Intermediate Examination

Significant updates have been announced for the Intermediate (12th) examination in Bihar, affecting millions of students. The Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) has laid down strict regulations for the upcoming exams scheduled from February 2 to February 13, 2026.

This year, approximately 13,17,846 students are expected to participate in the examination, with female candidates outnumbering their male counterparts, indicating a positive shift in educational trends within the state.

The breakdown of candidates shows that 6,75,844 female students and 6,42,002 male students will be taking the exam. The Bihar Board emphasizes that enhanced measures will be implemented to ensure a fair and orderly examination process.

Zero Tolerance Policy Against Cheating

The Bihar Board has adopted a strict no-tolerance policy towards cheating. Any student found engaging in dishonest practices will face severe consequences. Vigilance will be heightened at all examination centers to deter any form of malpractice.

The board has stated that "not even a bird will be able to fly" near the examination venues, highlighting their commitment to maintaining integrity. CCTV cameras will be installed at each center, and videographers will be present to monitor activities.

Additionally, Section 163 will be enforced within a 200-meter radius of the examination centers to prevent any disturbances.

Timeliness is Crucial

Students are advised to pay close attention to the examination schedule. Late arrivals will not be permitted entry, with no exceptions made once the gates close.

The first shift will commence at 9:30 AM, with entry allowed from 8:30 AM until 9:00 AM. A delay of even one minute could result in exclusion from the exam.

The second shift has been moved to start at 1 PM, an hour earlier than previous years, with entry from 12 PM. Adherence to these timings is mandatory.

Strict Disciplinary Measures

The Bihar Board is taking a firm stance on discipline. Any student attempting to enter after the gates close or trying to breach the premises will face legal action, including an FIR. Such individuals will also be barred from future examinations for two years.

These stringent measures are deemed necessary to uphold the examination's integrity, with zero tolerance for indiscipline.

Prohibition of Mobile Phones and Gadgets

For the 2026 Bihar Board Examination, students are strictly prohibited from bringing mobile phones or any electronic devices into the examination centers. A thorough frisking process will be conducted twice: once at the entrance and again before entering the examination room.

Videography will be utilized at the centers to ensure compliance with the rules, preventing any violations.
