High Court's Ruling: Following the Allahabad High Court's decision, an order has been issued to release a common merit list for the remaining 6,470 positions in this recruitment. The High Court has directed the state government to make appointments to these positions within three months.

Background of the Case: The case, involving Justice AR Masoodi and Justice Om Prakash Shukla, reached its conclusion after a hearing on 19 special appeals filed by selected candidates, including Mohit Kumar Dwivedi. It is worth noting that the application process for this recruitment was initiated on December 21, 2016.

Immediate Actions Ordered: The Allahabad High Court has instructed the state government to conduct counseling promptly for the vacant positions. The counseling will be conducted afresh according to the Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Teacher Service Rules of 1981. The High Court's decision comes after numerous candidates and the state government challenged a single bench order through 19 special appeals.

Teacher Vacancies in Uttar Pradesh: Currently, there are 12,460 vacant positions for assistant teachers in government schools across Uttar Pradesh. An official notification had been issued to fill a total of 12,460 positions, out of which appointments have already been made for 5,990 posts. The remaining 6,470 positions are now slated for appointments within the next three months.
