She became an online sensation, earning the moniker "Revolver Rani" after posting a video in which she appeared dressed in her khaki uniform, brandishing a revolver, and discussing law enforcement in Uttar Pradesh.

Her video quickly went viral, thrusting her into the limelight. However, what followed was not the adulation she might have expected.

The Viral Backlash

While the internet celebrated Priyanka's newfound fame, it also brought harsh criticism. The video sparked a wave of scrutiny and debate. Some viewed her actions as unbecoming of a police officer, while others saw her as a symbol of empowerment.

Resignation and Administrative Duties

Amid the heated discussions, Priyanka chose to resign from her position. Her resignation was officially accepted by the then-SSP Muniraj, and she was temporarily reassigned to administrative duties. This decision marked a significant turn in her life and career.

Reinstatement Request and Legal Process

In 2021, Priyanka sought reinstatement, citing financial difficulties. She presented her case to Police Commissioner Dr. Preetinder Singh. The matter was referred to the Assistant Police Commissioner's office, where legal advice was sought from the Joint Director of Prosecution.

The guidance recommended that the decision should be based on the appointing authority's discretion, introducing an element of subjectivity to the process.

Dependent Quota and Eligibility

In the context of regular UP Police personnel's unfortunate demise during their service, eligible dependents are granted reserved recruitment opportunities. To qualify for constable positions under the deceased dependent quota, candidates are required to pass a written exam, meet specific physical standards, and excel in a physical efficiency test.

UP Police Job Criteria

Candidates aspiring to join the UP Police Department must have completed at least the 12th grade or hold an intermediate qualification. The recruitment process for UP Police Department recruits involves multiple stages, including a written exam, Physical Efficiency Test (PET), Physical Measurement Test (PMT), Detailed Medical Examination, and Document Verification.

A recent update indicates that this year's UP Police Exam will be conducted in a hybrid format. The exam questions will be displayed on a computer screen, and candidates will be required to record their answers on an OMR Sheet.
