UP Man Claims He Funded Wife's Education, She Left After Getting Govt Job

SDM Jyoti Maurya has been facing severe backlash on social media recently. Allegedly, she distanced herself from her husband Alok Maurya after joining the civil service in Uttar Pradesh. Alok claimed that she is involved in an extramarital affair. Consequently, Jyoti has been labeled as ungrateful and unfaithful by a section of the online community. This incident has shed light on similar accounts of married men who have either withdrawn their support for their wives' aspirations or experienced similar betrayals.
A fresh case has emerged that echoes this narrative. Sushil Mishra, a resident of Amethi in Uttar Pradesh, alleges that his wife Priya began having an affair after gaining an education and securing a government job. However, Priya denies these accusations. Sushil has lodged a complaint with the Amethi SP and Mahila police station. In his complaint, he states that he supported Priya throughout her education and helped her secure a nursing job at a military school. Sushil claims that soon after she started working, Priya distanced herself from him and even prevented him from entering the school premises. The military school in question is located in Gauriganj Kauhar, Amethi, while Sushil resides in Rewa, Madhya Pradesh. The couple got married on May 20, 2013, and have a five-year-old daughter.
Priya, however, maintains that the separation between her and Sushil occurred long before she began pursuing her nursing career. According to her, it was her parents who supported her aspirations, not Sushil. She states that a trust funded her studies and Sushil did not contribute financially. Priya has also accused Sushil of harassment. The case is currently being heard in the family court.
