Key Highlights of JEE Advanced 2024

  • Examination Pattern: The JEE Advanced 2024 exam consists of two papers - Paper 1 and Paper 2, totaling 306 marks this year. While the exam is typically out of 360 marks, variations in total marks have been observed in recent years. The exam will be conducted online and is available in both English and Hindi.

  • Duration and Sections: Each paper will have a duration of three hours, except for candidates with disabilities (PwD), who will be given four hours. Both papers consist of three sections - Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, with a total of 54 questions. Each subject will have 18 questions.

  • Marking Scheme: The JEE Advanced exam follows a marking scheme that includes negative marking. Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) carry +3 marks for each correct answer and -1 mark for each incorrect answer. No marks are awarded or deducted for unanswered questions. Numerical Answer Type (NAT) questions also carry +3 marks for each correct answer, with no negative marking for incorrect responses. Matching Type questions are marked +1 for each correct match.
