Kurukshetra University will now provide education from KG to PG classes under one roof. Under the implementation of the New Education Policy 2020, the university administration has made preparations for admission in the session 2021-22 under the KG to PG scheme. Kurukshetra University will be the first university in the state which has adopted this system for imparting education till KG to PG. Not only this, the university administration has also prepared a roadmap to implement NEP in UG and PG programs from the year 2022.

The Executive Council of KU has already approved the Institutional Development Plan and submitted its structural framework to the Government. 15 percent additional seats (except courses not permitted by the Regulatory Board) in the UG and Integrated courses offered in the UTD and institutes of the University will be given to the students of the University Senior Secondary Model School. Admission to the majority of seats in a course will be made as per the eligibility criteria prescribed for the course given in the University prospectus.

The pre-condition has been laid by the Administration for admission to UG courses under the KG to PG scheme that the candidates who have studied in the Model School of the University will be admitted to the UG courses under this scheme, provided that The qualifying examination must have been passed from a university school and the student has studied for a minimum period of 2 years. Under this scheme separate applications will be invited and a separate merit list will be prepared in the qualifying examination on the basis of school education obtained in the University School (1 year = 0.5 marks) of the University. In case of non-availability of students in this category, candidates of other categories will not be admitted under it.
University Vice Chancellor Prof. Somnath Sachdeva said that many important meetings have also been held with Haryana Government and Higher Education Commission, Haryana regarding the new education policy. KU is playing a leading role in the state in formulating the concept, development plan and implementation program of NEP 2020.

University’s Dean Academic Affairs Prof. Manjula Choudhary informed that the committee constituted as per the instructions of the Vice-Chancellor had held an online meeting, in which 15 percent seats were reserved for students (students of University Senior Secondary Model School) who wish to pursue higher education in UG and UTD/Integrated courses run by the institute. provision has been made.
