UGC Recognized Universities for Online Distance Learning Programs:

Approximately 80 universities have been granted approval by the UGC to offer online distance learning programs. Some of the prominent universities included in the list are:

  • Jamia Millia Islamia, Delhi
  • Netaji Subhas Open University, Kolkata
  • Amity University, Uttar Pradesh
  • Maulana Azad National Urdu University, Hyderabad
  • Punjab University, Chandigarh
  • Dibrugarh University, Assam
  • Guntur University, Andhra Pradesh

Guidelines for Students Applying to Online Distance Learning Programs:

The UGC has issued specific guidelines for students to consider while applying for online distance learning programs:

  1. Confirm Recognition Status: Students should verify the recognition status of HEIs offering ODL and online education for the session they intend to join on the UGC-DEB website.
  2. Check HEI's Web Portal: It is advisable to check the details provided on the HEI's official website for accurate information.
  3. Prohibited Programs and Arrangements: Students must take note of prohibited programs and the prohibition of franchising arrangements while selecting a course.
  4. Territorial Jurisdiction: Ensure that all activities related to ODL programs are conducted within the specified territorial jurisdiction.
