Extended Deadline and Scope:
As per the public notice issued by UGC, the deadline for claiming pending dues has been extended to 8th July 2024. This extension encompasses fellowship amounts, house rent allowance, and contingency admissible until March 2024. Stakeholders, including Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) and fellows, are encouraged to utilize this extended period to process their claims through the Scholarship Fellowship Management Portal (SFMP).

Previous Extension and Importance of Clearing Dues:
This extension follows a previous move by UGC in February 2024, where the deadline was extended to 8th April 2024. The emphasis remains on the importance of clearing pending dues, covering both pre-revised and revised fellowship amounts, house rent allowance, and contingency admissible until December 2023.

Clarification on Pre-Revised Fellowship Amounts:
The notice clarifies that individuals who have already claimed pre-revised fellowship amounts need not take any additional action for claiming arrears due to revision in fellowship rates.

Adherence to Deadline:
After the 8th of April 2024, UGC will not entertain any claims pertaining to the period up to December 2023. Therefore, stakeholders are strongly urged to adhere to the extended deadline to ensure the timely processing of pending dues.
