The Tamil Nadu Directorate of Government Examination (TNDGE) released the results of the Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) or Class 10 board examinations on May 19. This year, 91.39 percent of candidates successfully passed the TN SSLC exams. Students can access their scores on the official websites tnresults.nic.in and dge.tn.gov.in. The Tamil Nadu Class 10 exams were conducted from April 6 to April 20, with over 9 lakh students appearing for the exams. Notably, female candidates outperformed male candidates in the TN Class 10 exams, with a pass percentage of 94.66 percent for girls and 88.16 percent for boys.

In an interesting development, 203 prison inmates also took part in the board exams, with 200 of them passing the TN SSLC exams, resulting in a pass percentage of 98.52 percent. The Tamil Nadu Prison Department shared this information, highlighting the achievements of these inmates. The Director General of Police (DGP) Prisons stated that for the academic year 2022-23, a total of 203 prison inmates, including 9 women prisoners from various Central Prisons & Special Prisons for Women across the State, appeared for the 10th standard examination.

It is important for students to collect their original mark sheets from their respective schools within a few days of the Class 10 result declaration. The Tamil Nadu board also offers a re-evaluation process for students who want their board answer sheets to be reviewed. The application forms for the re-evaluation process will be available on the official website soon. Furthermore, students who did not pass the SSLC exams on their first attempt have the opportunity to appear for the compartment exams. According to the 2023 information bulletin, the Tamil Nadu Class 10 compartment exams are expected to be held in June or July this year. Students who have failed in one or more subject papers can apply for the compartmental exams.
