On Saturday, the Chief Minister of Punjab, Bhagwant Mann, congratulated three school girls who secured top positions in the class 8 exams. The results of the exams were announced a day prior to the felicitation ceremony. Samarpreet Kaur, a student at a Ludhiana school, received 99.67% marks, while Lovepreet Kaur and Gurankit Kaur, both students at the government girls senior secondary school in Budhlada, Mansa district, scored 100% marks in the exam conducted by the Punjab School Education Board.

Mann expressed his delight and called it a momentous day for Punjab, as these daughters of the state have excelled through their hard work and dedication. He hoped that these girls would become role models for other students and inspire them to excel in their studies by attending government schools. He also announced the formation of a policy that would provide monetary awards to students who secure top positions in classes five, eight, and ten. Mann believed that such policies would encourage students to perform better in their studies.
