Telangana Schools to Remain Closed Today, Tomorrow Due to Rains

Telangana continues to experience heavy rains for the third consecutive day, leading the state government to declare a two-day holiday for schools on Thursday and Friday. Education Minister Sabitha Indra Reddy made the announcement through a tweet, stating that the decision was taken in light of the significant rainfall in the state and under the guidance of the Honourable Chief Minister, KCR garu.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) website forecasts heavy to very heavy rains in isolated areas of Adilabad, Komaram Bheem Asifabad, Jagityal, Rajanna Sirsilla, Karimnagar, Peddapalli, and Jayashankar Bhupalpally districts of Telangana today.
Meanwhile, the rising water levels of the Godavari river at Bhadrachalam have prompted District Collector Priyanka Ala to issue a high alert to the government authorities. As of 9 am on Thursday, the Godavari river is flowing at 40 feet, with 8,05,158 cusecs of water being released downstream, according to an official release.
