Telangana: ABVP Holds Protest Against Lack of Infrastructure in Govt Schools, High Fees in Pvt Schools

The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), Telangana, has initiated a bandh in order to express their discontent with the inadequate infrastructure in government schools and the high fees charged by private schools. Additionally, the student organization is demanding the recruitment of teachers to fill the vacant positions in several government schools. Chinthakayala Jhansi, the State Secretary of ABVP Telangana, participated in a dharna program held earlier today in front of the Palamuru Collectorate office.

The official Twitter handle of ABVP Telangana tweeted in Telugu, stating, "State Secretary Kumari was the chief guest at the dharna program in front of the collectorate called by the ABVP state branch at Palamuru district headquarters. @Jhansi_IN Participating state government will destabilize the education system and release 5,300 crore scholarships fee reimbursement."

According to reports, all educational institutions in Andhra Pradesh are closed today, July 5. ABVP Telangana is urging the state government to fill the vacant posts of Mandal Education Officer (MEO) and District Educational Officer (DEO). They are also requesting the state government to promptly release the official notification for the recruitment process. The student organization is further demanding quality meals in government schools and hostels, as well as action against corporate educational institutions operating without permits. ABVP is calling for measures to be taken against the exploitation of parents and students in the form of donations, cultural activities, fees, and textbooks by schools.

ABVP Telangana leaders assert that both government and private schools are not functioning in the best interest of students and parents. Previously, the student organization had organized a 'Telangana School Bandh' focused on the same issues. During the 'Telangana School Bandh,' private schools were affected while government schools remained open. The ABVP school bandh aimed to draw attention to the persisting problems in Telangana's schools.

Furthermore, ABVP announced a statewide educational institutional strike in Kerala on June 23 as a protest against a police lathi charge on an ABVP march that occurred on June 16.
