Students will learn yoga and music in primary schools of Himachal

Employment News-Yoga and music will be taught to students of classes 1st to 5th from the new academic session in government schools of Himachal Pradesh. The government has started completing the announcement of the election vision paper. Orders have been issued in this regard to the Directorate of Elementary Education. The primary level teachers have been entrusted with the responsibility of teaching both the subjects. Both these new subjects will be taught in winter schools from February and summer schools from April. To keep the students physically fit, the government has decided to start the subject of Yoga. An announcement was made in the election vision paper to introduce yoga as a subject in government schools. In this, the subject of music has also been added along with yoga. SCERT Solan has prepared the syllabus of Yoga and Music.

There will be two to three classes every week on these subjects being covered in the syllabus. This arrangement is being made so that children do not have to bear the burden of studies. Only these topics will be explained in the initial classes. By preparing class wise syllabus for this, students will be made proficient in these subjects till they reach the bigger classes. There will also be examinations for these subjects. The course will cover the history of yoga and music, including the present and those of eminence in these fields. Special training will also be given to teachers to teach these subjects.
