Students Unions Declare School Bandh On July 25 In Telangana And Andhra Pradesh

The leaders of student unions in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh have announced an educational institution bandh on Tuesday, July 25. The All India Students' Federation (AISF) and CPI leaders jointly declared this bandh, aiming to address various issues affecting students. Reports suggest that educational institutions in several regions across the states will remain closed on that day.
The main reasons behind the bandh are protests against irregularities in the education sector and demands for government intervention. The student unions are seeking improvements in hostel facilities, a reduction in mess charges, and the filling of vacant positions for wardens, cooks, and watchmen in hostels. Moreover, they are insisting on the construction of compound walls for women's dormitories in Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas (KGBVs) and Gurukuls in both states.
In response to a recent incident at Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya in Amarchinta village, where contaminated food led to around 50 girls falling ill, the demand for better quality and safer meals has been amplified. The Telugu Nadu Students Federation (TNSF) is also backing the bandh and advocating against the government's anti-student policies, specifically concerning increased fees imposed by private corporate institutions.
Furthermore, the ongoing heavy rainfall in certain areas of Andhra Pradesh has already resulted in the closure of some schools, with many students opting to skip classes due to the weather conditions.
The student unions are coming together with a unified stance against the government to have their demands met, expressing their grievances and urging authorities to take appropriate action to resolve these issues.
