Employment News-The State Higher Education Department has given extension of service to 31 teachers from TGT and Promotional Lecturer to Headmaster. On December 3, the Education Department had released the promotion list of 277 TGTs and Promotional School Lecturers serving in various schools across the state. On the basis of seniority these TGT and Promoted School Lecturers are promoted by the department to the post of School Headmaster.

The special thing is that the department has clearly written in the promotion order that the teachers who do not join the respective schools on the posts of headmaster by December 20, then their promotion orders will be considered canceled automatically. Meanwhile, there are 31 such teachers who have been transferred to tribal and remote schools. But he is no longer ready to leave his home district.

Out of these 31 teachers, maximum 10 teachers belong to Una district. While the rest are from Kangra, Hamirpur, Bilaspur and Mandi. Most of the teachers, using their political ties, got extension of one month from the Directorate. Along with this, it has started collecting information about vacant seats of headmasters in their home area and adjoining districts or headmasters retiring within a month, so that they can join the nearby schools as soon as the seats become vacant.

Some teachers have cited their poor health and some of their family's poor condition to seek extension. Even before this, when transfers of teachers were banned across the state, the education department had become a laughing stock by issuing transfer orders of some teachers.

Apart from this, many teachers have been posted in the Deputy Director's offices for a long time. On the other hand, Dr. Amarjeet Kumar Sharma, Director, Higher Education Department said that 277 TGTs and Promotional Lecturers have been promoted to the post of Headmaster. 31 teachers have been given extension due to serious genuine reasons.
