Application Process and Deadline:
The registration for applications commenced on February 29. The deadline for submitting an Expression of Interest (EOI) for the UQ-IITD Joint PhD program is March 17. Interested candidates can apply online through the official website - uqidar.org. Upon successful completion of the PhD program, students will be awarded a joint Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree from both Queensland University and IIT Delhi.

Eligibility Criteria:
There are two pathways for applying to the PhD program: the I-Student and the Q-Student. Eligibility criteria vary for I-Students (Indian citizens and international applicants, excluding Australian citizens) and Q-Students (domestic students from Australia).

I-Students: Candidates will spend their first year at IIT Delhi, followed by a year (or more) at UQ. Afterward, they will complete the remaining part of their studies at IIT Delhi.
Q-Students: Candidates will spend their first year at Queensland University, followed by a year (or more) at IIT Delhi.

Application Procedure for Indian Students:
Indian students can apply by visiting the official website uqidar.org. They need to select a project from the available projects and submit necessary documents such as transcripts. Subsequently, candidates must submit an Expression of Interest, indicating their preference for up to two projects. Shortlisted applicants will be invited for an interview scheduled between May 11 and May 16.

About UQIDAR:
The Joint PhD program, operated by the UQ-IITD Academy of Research (UQIDAR), covers various research areas including science, technology, engineering, mathematics, healthcare, humanities, and social sciences. Scholarships are also available for studying in international universities under the joint program. The program was initiated a few years ago, and according to reports, it enrolls around 70 students annually, with the same number graduating each year.
