Preparation of Composite Education Department: Food Allowance will be sent to the bank account of children through DBT
In Jammu and Kashmir, all government schools are closed for advance orders due to rising Corona infection. However, the Department of Composite Education has prepared to deliver the mid-day meal to the children. Like last year, this time too, children will get ration under mid day meal at home.
Last year, the Department of Composite Education sent droughts to more than eight lakh children and sent money to their account through DBT. This time, the overall education department will distribute drought rations to schools in all districts of the state from the month of May. Teachers will distribute ration by visiting the homes of the children of their classes.
This ration will be given to the children studying in the first to eighth standard. Last year too, after the lockdown, the teachers had reached the mid-day-meal ration to the children’s homes. Last year, the Department of Composite Education distributed drought rations (rice) to eligible 886905 children (primary 584387) and (upper primary 302518) in all the districts and disbursed Rs 92 crore through DBT.
Under the scheme, every child enrolled in primary class is provided free food grains at the rate of 100 grams per day and 150 grams of food grains are provided to each child of upper primary school respectively. The scheme also provides for spending Rs 4.97 for cooking for every primary level child per day and Rs 7.45 for every upper primary level child per day.
