Public Health Engineering Department Rajasthan will now emphasize on technical education and knowledge instead of looking for experienced personnel for technical jobs. The candidates will now have to qualify the written examination based on General Knowledge and Technical Knowledge. On the basis of this Exam Pattern, Merit List will be declared and further recruitment will be conducted.

The Eligibility Criteria for Technical Officers Post in PHED till date is 8th pass and its merit list. The list of candidates for interviews is generated on this basis itself till date. PHED has sent a proposal suggesting the said changes in the Exam Pattern to Department of Personnel, Government of Rajasthan. The changes so suggested will be implemented after receiving the approval from DoP.

PHED has announced vacancies for 1294 posts and has received applications from 1,80,000 applicant. The department was facing certain difficulties regarding the recruitment through 8th merit basis. Also certain faulty methods were being adopted by the applicants including preparing fake experience certificates for the purpose of gaining appointments in the department.

Various complaints regarding these fraud and mi-appropriations, and difficulties to conduct interviews has forced the Department to make changes in the Exam pattern and Recruitment Procedure. The Proposal requesting final changes has been sent to DoP for further approval.
