Over 7 Lakh Youth To Land Jobs Via PM, CM Internship Programs In UP: Yogi Adityanath

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath highlighted the crucial role of MSME units in Uttar Pradesh as the backbone of livelihood for millions of people. He announced that the PM and CM Internship Programmes would create employment opportunities for 750,000 youth in the state. Addressing the gathering at Lok Bhavan, Adityanath urged the MSME department to establish MSME clusters along Purvanchal, Bundelkhand, and Ganga Expressways by identifying suitable land. Furthermore, he directed officials to facilitate the establishment of Unity Malls in Lucknow, Varanasi, and Agra, catering to the needs of MSME entrepreneurs.
The occasion of International MSME Day-2023 also witnessed the distribution of loans worth Rs 20,000 crore to 341,000 MSME entrepreneurs, supporting the overall development of the sector. Adityanath acknowledged the significance of the MSME sector, stating that it would generate the maximum employment opportunities after agriculture. He commended the MSME entrepreneurs for revitalizing the sector and providing Uttar Pradesh with a new identity. Adityanath emphasized that under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the government had successfully nurtured nearly 9.6 million MSME units over the past six years, benefiting millions of people.
Adityanath proudly proclaimed Uttar Pradesh as the first state to implement the One District One Product (ODOP) scheme, ensuring the survival of the MSME sector. He highlighted the state's achievements in securing geographical indication (GI) tags for 52 products, with Varanasi alone receiving recognition for 23 products. He expressed confidence that in the future, many more products from Uttar Pradesh would obtain GI tags, further establishing the state's reputation for its traditional offerings both nationally and internationally.
