The Uttar Pradesh high school and intermediate board examinations are commencing today, February 22, with extensive measures in place to ensure fair and cheating-free examinations. Here are the key highlights of the arrangements made by the state government:

Enhanced Security Measures:

  • Examiners will be provided with ID cards equipped with barcodes, preventing any changes in invigilators inside the examination centres.
  • A command and control room has been established at the UP Board headquarters in Prayagraj, along with similar rooms in all five regional offices. These are interconnected to monitor all 75 districts across 18 divisions directly from the headquarters.
  • The command and control room, operating in three shifts, is staffed with over a hundred employees to ensure continuous monitoring of examination centres and storage rooms for papers and answer sheets.
  • Toll-free numbers (18001805310 and 18001805312) have been issued for reporting instances of cheating during examinations, with a dedicated team of officers for round-the-clock monitoring.

Utilization of Technology:

  • Technology has been leveraged to prevent copying during examinations, ensuring the integrity of the assessment process.
  • Strict actions will be taken against any attempts to circulate question papers on platforms like WhatsApp or other social media before or after the exam.

Examination Details:

  • The high school and intermediate examinations will continue until March 9, accommodating more than 55 lakh candidates across the state.
  • A total of 8265 examination centres have been set up, including 566 government schools, 3479 financed schools, and 4220 non-financed schools.
  • In the high school examination, 29,47,311 candidates, comprising 15,71,184 boys and 13,76,127 girls, will appear. For the Intermediate examination, 25,77,997 candidates, including 14,28,323 boys and 11,49,674 girls, are registered.
  • Overall, 55,25,308 candidates are expected to participate in the high school and intermediate examinations.
