The new academic session has started in the government schools of MP from June 15. Teaching material is being sent through Digilap for classes I to VIII. Online classes from class IX to XII have been started through Doordarshan and WhatsApp, but due to lack of books, most of the students are unable to understand anything.

Free books are given every year by the Department of School Education to the children of classes I to XII, but the textbooks have not yet reached the schools. MP Textbook Corporation produces about seven crore books every year for the students of class I to XII. Vinay Nigam, MD, MP Textbook Corporation, says that due to the lockdown, the books did not reach the students. 80 percent of the books have been prepared and delivered to the depot. Now books will be sent soon at the block level from there.

The remaining 20 percent of the books will be ready by the end of this month.

Five crore books have reached the depot
The Textbook Corporation says that after delivering about five crore books to the depot, 3.40 crore books have been handed over to the block offices. Despite this, the books have not yet been delivered to the schools. In this regard, the Directorate of Public Instruction (DPI) had issued instructions last month that all the students of class IX should be admitted in class X. Also, students should bring old books with them and submit them to the school. The old books will be distributed to the students according to their class till the text books are received.
Unable to understand

Class 12 student Aniket Singh told that online classes have been started, but without the book, nothing is understood. At the same time, student Yogita Tiwari says that many times homework of maths subject is given online, but due to lack of books, I am unable to do homework. Student Shashwat Sahu says that without a textbook, even the education of Doordarshan is not understood.
