Noida Schools Closed Today, Telangana Declares Holiday For 2 Days Due to Heavy Rains

Once again, during this monsoon season, several states and districts in India have been grappling with heavy rainfall, leading to the frequent closure of schools to ensure the safety of students and staff. On July 26, the Noida district administration in Uttar Pradesh issued a mandate for all local schools to remain closed due to the ongoing severe rain and flooding.

This decision comes in the wake of persistent rainfall that has been affecting the Noida area since Tuesday. In fact, earlier on July 14, all schools for grades one through twelve were shut down in Noida due to record-breaking rainfall and the rising water levels of the Yamuna River.

The situation is no different in Telangana, where the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for July 26 and 27, predicting very heavy to extremely heavy rainfall in several districts of the state. In response, the education minister of Telangana, Sabita Indra Reddy, authorized a two-day holiday on July 26 and 27 for all educational institutions, both private and public, in light of the continuous heavy rains.

The IMD has also been issuing alerts for other regions. The Kerala, Karnataka, and Maharashtra coastline areas recently received an orange alert, and the IMD has warned that heavy rains may return to the northern part of the country on July 25.

In specific areas like Hyderabad, an orange alert was issued for July 25, indicating moderate rainfall over all six zones - Secunderabad, Charminar, Khairatabad, LB Nagar, Kukatpally, and Serilingampally.

Considering the continuous thunderstorms predicted for a significant portion of Kerala until July 26, it was ordered that all schools and colleges in the state remain closed on July 24 and 25.

The authorities are closely monitoring the situation and taking precautionary measures to ensure the safety of everyone amid the challenging weather conditions.
