Officials announced that a private school in Sector 56 was sealed on Monday by the Noida Authority due to non-payment of dues, despite protests by several parents. The Uttarakhand Public School had been allotted land at a subsidized price in 1991, but had failed to pay approximately Rs 15 crore in dues, despite repeated reminders, according to an anonymous Noida Authority official.

The school was allotted 3,350 sq metre of land, but its allotment was cancelled in 2020 due to non-payment of dues and violation of rules. Although the school has yet to officially respond, parents of students expressed surprise at the sudden closure, with one parent of a Class 6 student claiming that they had no prior warning.

Several parents plan to hold a protest march on Tuesday to demand the cancellation of the school's sealing, despite claims by the local authority officer that the school had been given notice to hand over possession to the authority or face legal action.
