NEET UG 2024: Application Process, Documents Required And Important Dates

The application process for the NEET exam, which is conducted for admission to medical colleges, has commenced. The examination is scheduled to take place on May 5. Candidates interested in appearing for the NEET exam can submit their applications through the official website neet.ntaonline.ac.in. The deadline for NEET UG 2024 applications is March 9, providing less than a month until the application window closes.
Applicants are required to pay the application fee while applying online for NEET. The application fee for candidates belonging to the general category is Rs 1,700. For General-EWS/OBC-NC candidates, the fee is Rs 1600, while for SC/ST/PwBD/Third Gender candidates, it is Rs 1000.
Candidates applying for NEET UG 2024 must possess a valid email ID and mobile number. Additionally, candidates are required to have their photograph taken without a mask, ensuring that 80% of the face is visible, including the ears. Before filling out the application form, candidates should ensure that they have several important documents ready, including:
- Passport size photograph
- Postcard size photograph
- Finger and thumb impressions of left and right hands
- Signature
- Category Certificate
- Person with Benchmark Disability (PWBD) Certificate
- Citizenship Certificate
It is recommended that candidates bring four to six postcard-sized (4" x 6") color photos with a white backdrop and six to eight passport-sized photos. These photos must be uploaded to the online application form and will be utilized for admission, counseling, and examination purposes. Additionally, the NTA specifies that all documents related to NEET UG 2024 must utilize the same photo for consistency.
The NEET (UG) - 2023 test pattern consists of four subjects, each with two sections. Section A comprises 35 questions, while Section B comprises 15 questions, of which candidates are required to answer any 10 questions. Therefore, the total number of questions and duration of the exam will remain unchanged, lasting for three hours and twenty minutes.
