NEET Result 2024: Will the NEET Exam be Cancelled? NTA's Statement at Press Conference Revealed

NEET UG 2024 Result Controversies:
The NEET UG 2024 result announcement has sparked controversies, with allegations of discrepancies in the results. This has led to heightened scrutiny of the National Testing Agency's handling of the examination process. In response to the concerns raised, a press conference was convened to address the situation. A committee comprising former UPSC chairpersons and educators has been formed to investigate the anomalies in the NEET examination. The alleged irregularities are reported to be confined to only 6 centers and 1600 candidates. Out of 1563 candidates who received grace marks, only 790 qualified for the exam.

Committee Formation:
A new upper-level committee, consisting of eminent personalities from the education sector, has been tasked with reviewing the findings of the expert committee. This committee is expected to present its report within a week, which will influence decisions regarding the examination process.

NTA's Response:
The NTA has refuted claims of NEET UG 2024 paper leaks, asserting that the examination was conducted in accordance with established standards. While some candidates received grace marks, the overall results were not impacted significantly.

Performance Highlights:
Despite the controversies, NEET UG 2024 witnessed candidates achieving high scores, with several securing top ranks. Notably, 44 students scored between 715 and 720 marks, with the number of toppers increasing to 61 based on the revised answer key. Subodh Kumar Singh, Director-General of NTA, addressed concerns raised by approximately 1600 candidates across six centers. He highlighted instances of candidates receiving incorrect question papers and torn OMR sheets, affecting their exam experience.

Legal Action and Remedial Measures:
Affected students have sought recourse through legal channels, approaching the Supreme Court for re-examination or compensatory marks. In response, the NTA has formed a committee of experts to address the issue, with decisions to be made based on their recommendations.
