Employment News-Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has launched the National Educational Alliance for Technology (NEAT). This program has been announced with the participation of All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). The education minister informed that, today, more than 12 lakh socially and economically disadvantaged students have received free ed-tech course coupons worth more than Rs 253.72 crore under NEET 3.0.

This program has been announced in the meeting of the Ministry of Education and AICTE. Dharmendra Pradhan said that the National Educational Alliance for Technology (NEAT) is one of the biggest gifts from PM Narendra Modi to the student community. Also said that, the objective of NEET 3.0 is to bring the best of technical products in education pedagogy on a single platform for the convenience of the learners.

What is NEET 3.0?
The Ministry of Education (MoE), through an open invitation and screening, on January 12, 2020, through its implementing agency AICTE and the Government of India through education technology companies, announced the National Educational Alliance for Technology (NIE) as a public-private partnership model between the Government of India. The objective of NEAT is to bring the best of technical products in education pedagogy on a single platform for the convenience of the learners. Technology products using Artificial Intelligence for customized learning or e-content in niche areas with highly employable skills will be identified for display on the portal. Edu-tech companies are involved in 25% of the courses sold through NEET portal which are being provided free of cost to the socially and economically weaker students.

In this regard, AICTE currently has about 12 lakh free coupons available, which AICTE wants to distribute to those students whose annual family income is less than 8 lakhs. These free coupons will be distributed through NEAT portal. In January 2020, the Ministry of Education announced NEET, a public-private partnership between the government and education technology companies in India.

Management of AICTE
The initiative is managed by the technical education regulator, All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). “Artificial intelligence-enabled products for advanced education will be selected for presentation on the portal.
