Mumbai University Releases Revised Exam Schedule, Check New Datesheet

The University of Mumbai has released a revised schedule for the semester examinations that were postponed due to heavy rains. The exams for the third-year Bachelor of Arts (TYBA) semester 5 and some remaining assessments had been delayed. All exams initially scheduled for July 20 were canceled.
According to a report by Free Press Journal, the third-year Bachelor of Arts (BA) semester 5 papers, except for 3A00135 and 3A0014, which were supposed to be held on July 20, have been rescheduled for July 26. Furthermore, the third-year BA semester 5 papers, excluding 3A00135 and 3A00145, originally planned for July 26, will now take place on July 28. The remaining test papers, which were initially scheduled for July 20, have been rescheduled for July 31. The exams will continue to be conducted at the same time and venue as previously arranged by the university.
Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) Mumbai center has issued an ‘orange’ alert for Maharashtra capital and neighboring Thane and Raigad districts, forecasting severe to heavy rainfall in isolated areas on July 25. The persistent rainfall over the last few days has caused traffic bottlenecks, waterlogged roads, and delayed local trains, causing concerns for the residents of Mumbai. On July 22, the city experienced its wettest day of the year, with record-breaking rainfall.
In other news, Mumbai University announced the results of the three-year BCom fifth semester exam on July 23. According to reports, out of 36,105 final year BCom students who registered for the fifth-semester repeat exam in April-May 2023 after failing the regular exam held in November-December last year, only 16,782 students passed all the papers, resulting in a success rate of 51.36 per cent. The standard fifth-semester exam had an even lower pass rate, with only 34.25 per cent of students passing.
The situation remains challenging for both students and authorities as heavy rains continue to impact the region.
