The state government has issued a new guideline for increasing the fees on private schools. Under this, no school will be able to raise fees more than 10 percent. All private schools will have to open a separate bank account to deposit fees. 

The school will inform the state government from time to time. The Government has issued new guidelines using the Madhya Pradesh Private School Fees and related subjects Regulation Act 2017. It has also been published in the Gazette. 

The School Education Department has also demanded a balance sheet of three years from 2017 till now. Based on this, the department will also review the fees charged by the schools in three years.

Approval will have to be taken from the district committee

All schools must upload a clear fee structure on their website before the commencement of the academic session. Schools will be able to increase their fees by ten percent or less. This information has to be uploaded about 90 days before the start of the new academic session. 

Ten to fifteen percent of the schools will make a proposal for fee hike and send it to the district committee. The committee will decide on this proposal in 45 days. The chairman of the district committee will be the collector of the district concerned. If the fee is to increase by more than 15 percent, then the District Committee will send its opinion to the State Committee. 

District committees will be able to ask the management of private schools why they want to increase the fees by so much percentage. Committee school management, before increasing fees Students and their families will also be able to take their side. 

Private school management charges more than the fixed fees and if the complaint is received then the government will be able to take action against it. The committee will also have the rights to refund the fees.
