The Civil Service Preliminary Exam Results 2023 were announced by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) on June 12. The preliminary exam took place on May 28 this year, with a total of 14,624 candidates successfully clearing the prelims. These qualified candidates will now proceed to the UPSC Civil Service Mains exam, scheduled to commence on September 15.

For the Civil Service Examination, candidates belonging to the General category are eligible to take the exam up to six times. In contrast, candidates from the SC and ST categories have an unlimited number of attempts, while OBC candidates can make a maximum of nine attempts. PwBD candidates from the general and EWS categories are also allowed nine attempts.

To apply for UPSC Mains 2023, candidates who have cleared the UPSC Prelims are required to fill out a form on upsc.gov.in. This form is known as the Detailed Application Form-I (DAF-I) for the Civil Services (Main) Examination, 2023. It is advised that candidates keep a copy of the completed form for reference, as interview questions may be based on its contents. The specific dates and instructions for filling out and submitting the DAF-I will be provided in due course.

In terms of preparation for UPSC Mains 2023, current affairs should be given the utmost importance. Candidates are recommended to stay well-informed about current affairs from the past one and a half years. Since the UPSC Mains exam is scheduled for September 2023, candidates are advised to start preparing for current affairs from June 2021
