Overview of Lado Protsahan Yojana
The Department of Women and Child Development in Rajasthan has announced the Lado Protsahan Yojana for 2025, with application forms now available. This initiative aims to provide financial support of ₹1.50 lakh to families for the birth of daughters, distributed in seven installments until the girl reaches 21 years of age. The scheme is applicable for girls born on or after August 1, 2024.
Objectives of the Scheme
The primary goals of the Lado Protsahan Yojana include fostering a positive attitude towards the birth of girls in Rajasthan and ensuring their overall development. It aims to eliminate gender discrimination in education and healthcare, promote institutional deliveries to reduce maternal mortality rates, and improve the child sex ratio.
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the scheme, the girl must be born in a government medical institution or a private institution recognized under the Janani Suraksha Yojana. Additionally, the mother must be a native of Rajasthan.
Benefits of the Scheme
Families will receive a commitment letter for ₹1.50 lakh upon the birth of a girl. This amount will be disbursed in seven installments through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). The first six installments will be credited to the parents' or guardians' bank accounts, while the final installment will be transferred to the girl's account upon reaching adulthood.
Installments Breakdown
- First Installment: ₹2500 upon the birth of the girl in a recognized medical institution.
- Second Installment: ₹2500 when the girl turns one year old and completes all vaccinations.
- Third Installment: ₹4000 upon admission to the first grade in a government or recognized private school.
- Fourth Installment: ₹5000 upon admission to the sixth grade.
- Fifth Installment: ₹11000 upon admission to the tenth grade.
- Sixth Installment: ₹25000 upon admission to the twelfth grade.
- Seventh Installment: ₹100000 upon graduation and reaching the age of 21.
Application Process
There is no need to visit any office for the application. Registration for the scheme is done at the time of birth in government or recognized private institutions. Applicants can also seek assistance from Anganwadi workers. Required documents include proof of residence in Rajasthan, marriage certificate, bank account details, and Aadhaar card. The details will be maintained by the Department of Health and Family Welfare and recorded on the PCTS portal.
