Kamyaa showed exceptional promise academically from an early age. As the CBSE regional topper, she secured an impressive 98.6% in her Class 12th board exams in 2014, having received her education at KIIT International School in Odisha. She pursued her graduation in Political Science from Delhi University’s Lady Shri Ram College, where she set her sights on the challenging path of cracking the UPSC exam. Her primary subject in the UPSC Civil Services Examination was Political Science.
In 2019, Kamyaa Mishra exhibited remarkable determination and cleared the UPSC exam in her first attempt, securing an all-India rank of 172. She entered the Indian Police Service (IPS) at the age of 22, initially assigned to the Himachal cadre before later moving to the Bihar cadre.
Initially stationed in the Sirmaur district of Himachal Pradesh, Kamyaa's young age of 22 while donning the police uniform drew attention. Upon her transfer to Bihar, her first posting was as an Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) in Patna.
In 2021, Kamyaa married Avdhesh Saroj, an IPS officer of the Bihar cadre and an alumnus of IIT Bombay. The couple presently resides in Bihar.
