The results of the Joint Entrance Examination (Main) 2023 have been announced, with 43 candidates achieving a perfect score. Clearing this exam is just the first step towards securing admission to engineering colleges, as candidates must also meet the admission criteria of their chosen institutions. To be eligible for JEE Main 2023, students must have passed or appeared for the 12th class examination in 2021 or 2022 from a recognized board of education and obtained at least 75% marks (65% for reserved categories).

Counselling for admission to IITs, NITs, and IIITs is conducted by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) and the Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB). While JoSAA handles counselling for IIT admissions, as well as those for NITs and IIITs, CSAB manages counselling for excess seats in the NIT+ system. The list of top engineering colleges accepting JEE Main scores includes prestigious institutions like the National Institute of Technology Tiruchirappalli, Anna University, and the Indian Institute of Technology Calicut.

The cut-off for JEE (Advanced) has increased this year, with the general category cut-off being 90.77, up from 88.41 last year. The cut-off for EWS candidates is 75.62, while for OBC, SC, and ST categories it is 73.61, 51.97, and 37.23, respectively. To be eligible for JEE Advanced, candidates must be among the top 2.5 lakh successful candidates of JEE Main, and registrations for this exam began on April 30.
