In addition to this, JMI is actively exploring opportunities to establish overseas campuses in the Middle East and other foreign countries, as part of their plans to strengthen the reputation of 'Brand Jamia.'
The convocation, which took place at Vigyan Bhavan, was graced by the presence of Vice President Jagdeep Dhankar and Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. Pradhan expressed hope that Jamia Millia Islamia, in line with the requirements of the National Education Policy (NEP), would produce global individuals who could contribute to reducing inequality between the Western world and the global south. Furthermore, he stressed that the medical college should aim to become an urban research center, focusing on resolving complex medical issues worldwide.
On Sunday, July 23, Jamia Millia Islamia awarded degrees and diplomas to the students of the 2019 and 2020 batches, comprising approximately 12,500 graduates, including about 800 gold medalists and Ph.D. degree holders, according to an official press release.
