IIT Hyderabad Student Dies by Suicide in Visakhapatnam
A heartbreaking incident occurred at Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Hyderabad, when a student, Karthik (21), who had been missing since last week, was discovered deceased on Tuesday. His lifeless body was found on a beach in Visakhapatnam. Authorities are suspecting suicide as the cause of his death. In response to the situation, the police transported Karthik's body to King George Hospital for an autopsy and have initiated a thorough investigation.
Karthik, a second-year B. Tech (Mechanical) student, had left the campus on July 17, and his phone was subsequently switched off. Concerned about his sudden disappearance, the IIT authorities informed his parents, who rushed to the institute on July 19 and promptly filed a complaint with the Sangareddy rural police. Both the police and Karthik's family launched a search operation at various locations to find him.
During the course of the investigation, the police managed to trace the signal of Karthik's mobile phone to Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh. A team of officers, accompanied by the student's parents, immediately headed to Visakhapatnam to follow up on the lead. Notably, Karthik hails from Miryalguda in the Nalgonda district, while IIT Hyderabad is situated in Kandi, Sangareddy district.
