IGNOU Launches Four New MSc Courses, Check Eligibilty Criteria Here

The School of Sciences at Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has recently introduced four new Master of Science (MSc) courses, which can be pursued through online distance learning (ODL) mode. These innovative programs include MSc Applied Statistics (MSCAST), MSc Geography (MSCGG), MSc Physics (MSCPH), and MSc Geo-informatics (MSCGI). The commencement of these courses will coincide with the July academic session of 2023, and each program has a duration of two years. During the 28th Professor G Ram Reddy Memorial Lecture at IGNOU, the unveiling of the new postgraduate programs was officiated by Dr Subhas Sarkar, the Union Minister of State for Education. The eligibility criteria for each MSc program are as follows:
MSc in Applied Statistics: Candidates must hold a Bachelor of Arts (BA) or Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree from a recognized university, with statistics or mathematics as one of the subjects.
MSc in Geography: Applicants should have completed their graduation in any stream.
MSc in Geo-informatics: Candidates must possess a graduate degree in Engineering, Architecture, Science, Planning, Computer Application and Information Technology from a recognized university. Alternatively, individuals who have completed a Master of Arts (MA) in Geography from a recognized university are also eligible.
MSc in Physics: Those applying must have a graduate degree with a major or honors in physics. Additionally, candidates with a BSc degree (including IGNOU BSc program under CBCS) in mathematics and physics, or a BSc degree from IGNOU, are also eligible.
For individuals interested in registering for the IGNOU July Session 2023, the following steps should be followed:
Step 1: Visit the official website at ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in.
Step 2: Locate and click on the 'new registration' link.
Step 3: Provide the necessary details, such as name, email address, password, and others, to complete the registration process.
Step 4: Once registered, log in using the newly created username and password.
Step 5: Fill out the application form and upload all the required documents.
Step 6: Pay the application fee as instructed and submit the form.
Furthermore, IGNOU has extended the deadline for re-registration in the July 2023 admission cycle until July 15. Eligible students interested in availing scholarships can also register for them through the National Scholarship portal.
