ICAI to hold CA Foundation, Intermediate exams thrice a year now

On March 7, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) made a groundbreaking announcement regarding the CA Foundation and Intermediate exams. This significant change in the examination pattern aims to provide more opportunities and flexibility for CA aspirants across the country. Let's delve into the details of this transformative decision and its implications for future Chartered Accountants.

ICAI's Triannual Exam Schedule: Until now, ICAI conducted the CA Inter and Foundation exams twice a year. However, with the new guidelines, these exams will now be held three times annually, offering candidates more chances to appear and excel.

Central Council Member's Announcement: Dhiraj Khandelwal, a Central Council Member of ICAI, took to his official X account (formerly Twitter) to share the news. He lauded the move as a beneficial change for CA students, emphasizing the ICAI's commitment to supporting the fraternity's academic pursuits.

Understanding CA Examination Levels: The CA Foundation exam serves as the entry-level assessment for aspiring Chartered Accountants in India, open to candidates who have passed their Class 12 exams. Subsequently, the CA Intermediate exam follows, consisting of two groups of subjects, and is accessible to those who have completed the Foundation level. Finally, the CA Final exam marks the concluding stage in the journey to becoming a Chartered Accountant.

Release of ICAI CA Mock Test Series 1: In conjunction with the exam pattern revision, the ICAI has also unveiled the CA mock test series 1 for intermediate and final students preparing for the May 2024 exams. These mock tests, available in both physical and virtual formats, offer invaluable practice opportunities to enhance exam readiness.

ICAI CA Exam Timetable: According to the announced timetable, the CA intermediate exams for 2024 are slated for May 3, 5, and 7 for group 1, followed by May 9, 11, and 13 for group 2. Similarly, CA final group 1 and group 2 exams are scheduled from May 2 to 6 and May 8 to 12, respectively.
