Center Change Option

According to the official notice by IBPS, eligible candidates who had initially chosen Imphal (Manipur) as their examination center may opt for a 'Center Change.' The available alternative centers for selection include Guwahati, Shillong, Aizawl, Kohima, Faridabad, Gurugram, or Kolkata, as stated in the notice.

IBPS PO Mains Exam Pattern

The IBPS Probationary Officer Mains Exam consists of both objective and descriptive questions. Objective-type questions carry a total of 200 marks, while descriptive questions are worth 25 marks. It's important to note that there is a penalty of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer in the IBPS PO Mains exam. The duration of the paper is three and a half hours, and the maximum marks attainable are 225.

The exam is divided into the following five sections:

  1. Section 1 - Reasoning and Computer Aptitude: This section is divided into two parts, A and B. Part A consists of 15 questions, each carrying two marks, while Part B has 30 questions. Candidates have 60 minutes to complete this section, with a total of 60 marks. Questions are available in both Hindi and English.

  2. Section 2 - General, Economy, and Banking Awareness: This section comprises 40 questions worth 40 marks. Questions are available in both Hindi and English, and candidates have 35 minutes to complete this section.

  3. Section 3 - English Language: This section is entirely in English. It contains two questions worth five marks each and 30 questions worth one mark each. Candidates are allotted 40 minutes to complete this section for a total of 40 marks.

  4. Section 4 - Data Analysis and Interpretation: Similar to the other sections, this section is divided into two parts. It consists of 25 questions worth two marks each and 10 questions worth one mark each. Candidates have 45 minutes to complete this section for a total of 60 marks. Questions are available in both English and Hindi.

  5. Section 5 - Letter Writing and Essay: This section is of descriptive type and carries a total of 25 marks. Candidates are provided with 30 minutes to answer two questions in this section.

Additional Information

The official website also provides the option for eligible candidates to register themselves as a scribe for another candidate. However, it's important to note that if the same scribe writes for more than one candidate in the same exam, both the scribe and the candidate will be disqualified.

Admit cards for the examination have been issued, and only candidates who have qualified for the IBPS PO prelims exam 2023 are eligible to appear for the mains. To download the admit card for the mains exam, candidates must visit the official website at ibps.in and use their application number to access their hall tickets.
