Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) is an Indian entrance examination for teachers. The test is mandatory for getting teaching jobs in government schools from Class 1 to Class 8. Paper 1 is meant for teachers opting for Class 1 to Class 5 and Paper 2 for Class 6 to Class 8. It is conducted by both Central government and State governments in India.

Board of Secondary education of Haryana scheduled Teacher Eligibility Test on 14 and 15 November, 2015. Total of 4.61 lakh students for PGT in the state went to the examination centre but examination was cancelled due to leakage of the question paper on 14 November, 2015. In recent Reports it had been notified that 12th arrest made in HTET paper leak case.

HTET 2015 Paper Leak Case- 12th Accused Arrested

The Special Investigation Team (SIT) constituted by Hisar IGP Anil Kumar Rao had arrested another accused Praveen Dahiya, who had received the answer key on WhatsApp and then forwarded it to another WhatsApp group. Total 12 People were arrested by the police for this case but yet to find the source of the leak of the Haryana Teacher Eligibility Test (HTET) paper.

Rao said Dahiya, a resident of Fatehpur village in Sonepat and his relative Manjeet added in WhatsApp group “Chandni Chowk” on which the answer key and the question paper of the level 3 HTET were leaked. The group has about 55 members. The police said it seemed that Dahiya and manjeet were involved in this case. Dahiya struck a deal with many other candidates, five of which have been identified, for Rs 2 lakh each to share the answer key with them.

The Special Task Force (STF) in charge, Inspector Jeet Singh, said Dahiya was also suspected to be involved in the paper leak case of the Staff Selection Commission’s Combined Graduate Level test in 2013. The SIT in charge said Dahiya’s arrest was a major breakthrough towards solving the case, but they were still searching for three main accused Rajender Randhawa, who was the centre in charge in the Indian Modern Senior Secondary School in Sonepat, which was suspected to be the origin of the paper leak, and two JBT teachers Pawan and Ajay, both brothers, who were still absconding. Bhiwani said that “There are around 55 to 60 persons in the main WhatsApp group and the answer key was further shared on some other groups. Once we are able to trace all these persons, action will be taken against them”.
