Historic Flagpole Installed at Ram Temple on Parshuram Jayanti

Ayodhya witnessed a momentous occasion once again. On Tuesday, coinciding with the auspicious celebration of Lord Parshuram Jayanti, a magnificent 42-foot tall flagpole was ceremoniously erected atop the main spire of the grand Ram Temple. This installation has elevated the total height of the temple to 203 feet.

Ceremony Details

The formal installation of the flagpole took place at 8 AM on the main spire of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple. According to Champat Rai, the General Secretary of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra, the flagpole stands at 42 feet. The installation process commenced at 6:30 AM and was completed by 8 PM. As the flag was hoisted amidst the sound of conch shells and Vedic chants, it felt as though the spirit of Ayodhya soared to the heavens with the chanting of Lord Ram's name. The temple's height, including the spire, is now 161 feet, enhanced by the addition of the flagpole.

Symbol of Faith and Pride

Champat Rai emphasized that the flagpole's installation is not merely a religious event; it represents the faith hidden in the tears of countless eyes that have awaited this moment for generations. As the flag was raised atop the temple, every devotee's heart swelled with pride. This is not just a metal pole but a symbol of the devotion, faith, and self-respect of millions of Ram devotees.
The flagpole acts as an antenna, channeling cosmic energy to the Ram Temple.
Dr. Anil Mishra, a trustee of the Ram Temple, explained that a specially designed religious flagpole was created to ensure that cosmic energy reaches the temple. This unique antenna transmits the universe's energy to the sanctum of the deity. Engineers have crafted a special structure to prevent the flag from flapping in strong winds, and the flagpole has been designed accordingly.
Key Features of the Flagpole:
- Width: 9.5 inches, Height: 42 feet, Weight: 5.5 quintals
- Crafted by 40 artisans in Ahmedabad over 9 months
- Made of bronze
