Himachal Govt School to Have Space Lab to Promote Scientific Interest Among Rural Students

Officials announced on Monday that a space lab will be established at a government school in this district to foster scientific thinking among rural children and cultivate their interest in science and technology. The District Mining Fund has allocated a budget of Rs 10 lakh for the construction of the space lab, marking the first of its kind in Himachal Pradesh. Bilaspur's Additional Deputy Commissioner, Nidhi Patel, confirmed that the Government Senior Secondary School Ghumarwin will be the site for this initiative.
Taking inspiration from a successful panchayat model in Siddharth Nagar, Uttar Pradesh, a blueprint for the project has been developed to set up the space lab in Himachal Pradesh. Patel emphasized the implementation of special programs aimed at promoting scientific thinking among the students. Additionally, students from nearby schools will have the opportunity to visit the space lab and access science-related information.
Notably, the space lab will provide comprehensive insights into various significant projects undertaken by ISRO, including satellite launcher systems and drone manufacturing. Patel expressed her enthusiasm for the lab's potential to offer students detailed knowledge about these important endeavors.
